Ad-free subscription models
I don't understand why Web sites think it's wise to
grant ad-free access to paying subscribers. Sure, it's a lure, but those paid customers are exactly who advertisers want to reach: committed, profile-rich regular visitors. Ad-free subscriber areas devalue the advertising twofold, by taking the best targets out of the main ad pool and by nullifying third-party attempts to monetize the dedicated userbase. There's a reason magazines are loaded with advertising when subscribers receive them.
